 We are always looking for great organizers to join our team. It requires a unique skillset!  We provide both on the job and video training for those who request it.

Job Information

Details

  • This is an independent contractor or subcontractor position with no specific number of work hours guaranteed. 
  • Hours can vary greatly and range from 0-24 per week.  
  • Organizing sessions are typically 6 hours per day and/or until project completion, beginning and ending at the times determined by the client.  

terms of compensation

  • Billable time is considered time spent at the job site or any time spent shopping for supplies required for the project.
  • Imbursement starts at $110 per 6-hour session. There is opportunity for growth depending on voluntary training, expertise, time spent on projects with Rethink Clutter, and initiative and leadership.  
  • Payment is distributed within 5 business days of project completion.  
  • Contractors are eligible for referral bonuses for referring new clients to the company.

Typical projects include:

  • Residential homes, businesses, home offices, storage units, and warehouses.
  • Every area of a home including: bedrooms, bathrooms, storage rooms/closets, kitchen & pantry, garage, laundry/mud rooms, play areas, family spaces, etc..
  • Soft staging and move prep for realtors and their clients
  • New move-ins, unpacking and set up

Positions available:

  • Lead Organizer - 
    • Self-starter that can interact with the client professionally to assess the scope of the project, ensure clear communication and project completion.
    • Manage the work of one or more assistants during the job.  
    • Manage own schedule and pull in other vetted contractors as needed to fulfill project requirements.
  • Assistant Organizer - 
    • Team player to get the decluttering and organizing project done!  
    • Work under a Lead Organizer to implement the vision for each client job. 
    • Work alongside other Assistant Organizers to complete delegated tasks.

work areas:

  • North - Weber and Davis Counties
  • Center - Salt Lake County
  • South - Utah County

(All boundaries are approximate and may shift based on need and team availability.)

Ideal candidate has/is:

  • A positive attitude towards even the toughest projects and maintains a strictly non-judgemental interaction with clients and other teammates.  
  • An energetic individual or freelancer looking for intermittent, part time project work. 
  • Other Organizers that want to fill holes in their schedules.
  • Strong communication skills, responsive, good listener, is capable of communicating with a large variety of personality types. 
  • Quick learner and can easily handle delegated tasks.
  • Capable of understanding the end-goal and taking initiative to get there. 
  • Current valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Owns a smartphone and can text or upload photos of completed work.  
  • Willing to create customized systems for the client, using Rethink Clutter methods when applicable.
  • Able to prioritize functional needs of the client rather than personal preferences or internet trends.
  • Willing to learn how neurodiversities, trauma and mental health relate to organization.
  • High School diploma or equivalent education

Project responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Respond quickly with availability to client or Lead Organizer when projects become available 
  • Travel to various cities to complete organizing projects
  • Loading and unloading job supplies
  • Sort items to be decluttered and organized
  • Walk, climb stairs, sit, stand, kneel, or a combination of those for up to 6 hours.
  • Be able to lift or move clients items, furniture or boxes/bins up to 50 lbs.
  • Light cleaning
  • Take out recycling and garbage
  • Deliver donations to thrift stores or specific nonprofits
  • Maintain great dynamic with project team and clients 

Professional Appearance & Safety

  • Closed-toe shoes 
  • Long pants or capris (jeans, yoga pants, athletic wear are all acceptable)
  • No words, logos, or symbols on clothing. 
  • No rips/tears or holes.
  • No exposed midriff. 
  • Rethink Clutter branded shirts and hats are available by request.
  • Neat, clean, professional appearance and hygiene.  
  • No visible tattoos above shirt collar. No visible vulgar/extreme tattoos.

Hiring Process:

  • Submit an application, resume and references.
  • Video, phone or in-person interview. 
  • Reference and criminal background checks.
  • On the job interview - 3 project introductory period.
  • Sign contractor agreement.
